Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD) – Wang Chau and Long Bin Volunteer Team – Chinese New Year Carnival

On 14 February 2026, the Wang Chau and Long Bin Volunteer Team and Yan Oi Tong held a Chinese New Year Carnival at Shui Pin Wai Estate, Yuen Long. Through festive interactions and the promotion of environmental protection themes, the event fostered community integration and shared the joy of the Chinese New Year with the elderly and local residents.

The event attracted many elderly and local residents with its lively and vibrant atmosphere. A rich variety of programmes was available on site, including a paper-cutting workshop, Fai Chun calligraphy experiences and eco-friendly game booths. Specially invited calligraphers created festive calligraphy on the spot to extend warm New Year wishes to the public. With care and enthusiasm, volunteers assisted the elderly in joining the activities, filling the venue with joy and warmth.

The Wang Chau and Long Bin Volunteer Team will continue to organise more events that combine community care and environmental awareness. We will work together to build a caring and inclusive community, bringing more positive energy and warmth to the neighbourhood.
