Inheriting the spirit of Master Lo Pan, the patron saint of Chinese builders and carpenters, the Construction Industry Sports and Volunteering Programme (CISVP) under the Construction Industry Council (CIC) launched the “Construction Industry Lo Pan Rice Campaign” in 2020 during the birthday of Master Lo Pan, and distributed hot meal boxes to underprivileged groups, bringing care and hope to the community. As we celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR this year, the CIC and the Hong Kong Construction Association (HKCA) once again join hands and organise the “18 Districts Lo Pan Rice” Campaign from 1 to 31 July 2022, spreading love and care across 18 districts in Hong Kong.

Throughout July, 1,000 volunteers from over 60 construction-related companies and nongovernmental organisations will organise more than 160 rounds of Lo Pan Rice distribution, giving out over 12,000 meal boxes and 3,000 goodie bags across 18 districts in Hong Kong. Beneficiaries include low-income families, the unemployed, singleton elderlies, two-elder families, people with limited mobility, ethnic minorities, subdivided households and homeless people, etc, embracing the construction industry’s caring spirit of “We Do What We Can (建義勇為)”.
